Along the Adriatic Coast
The Adriatic coast offers a diverse selection of sandy, pebble, and rocky beaches, often protected by breakwaters running parallel to the shore. The shallow water makes it an ideal and safe choice for families with children. In summer, the sea is pleasantly warm, enhancing the relaxing beach experience.
Monte Conero, Sirolo (1h 15 min)
Monte Conero, a mountain south of Ancona, dramatically rises from the sea, creating a stunning contrast of green cliffs against deep blue waters. At the base of the mountain, you’ll find picturesque beaches, often secluded and less accessible. Keep in mind that some beaches require a steep climb back to the parking area. These beaches are highly popular due to their unique beauty, meaning they can be crowded during the summer. If arriving by plane in Ancona, Monte Conero is visible on the left side during landing. One of the banner photos above showcases part of this spectacular location.
Porto San Giorgio (40 MIN)
A lively seaside town with wide sandy beaches. Parking is easy near Ristorante Altamarea (see “Restaurants”). From here, you can walk straight to the beach, where sunbeds and umbrellas are available for rent for around €9 per day. The bagnino (beach attendant) will assist you in finding a spot. Note: Open umbrellas are already reserved, even if no one is there. Facilities are excellent, including changing cabins, showers (cold water is free, warm water costs €0.50), and foot rinse stations. The beach is clean and well-maintained.
Lido di Fermo (40 MIN)
The beach resort of the provincial capital, Fermo, featuring wide sandy beaches and a relaxed atmosphere, slightly less crowded than Porto San Giorgio. Ristorante Il Grillo (see “Restaurants”) is located on the beachfront—perfect for a delicious meal with a sea view.
Cupra Marittima (50 MIN)
A charming seaside town with a well-kept beach. Here, you’ll find Koko Beach (see “Restaurants”), one of our favorite beachside restaurants. With its stylish decor and excellent seafood, it’s highly recommended. The restaurant also offers its own beach facilities, allowing you to enjoy a carefree day by the sea.
Along the coast, you'll find a wide variety of beaches and amenities, offering something for everyone—from secluded coves to bustling beaches with full facilities. A perfect destination for beach lovers!
